metaphor of movement

2022 / 聲音複合媒材mixed media with sound
Artist Hung Tzu-Ni who came to Taitung Art Museum last year to create her artworks. She collaborates with Semalriyaw, a musician from the Kasavakan tribe. Using the sound composite media work "Metaphor of Movement" to explore the position of trying to find a balance in the repeated pulling between body memory, sound archives and nature. This work is also one of the many clues that Semalriyaw takes from the urban aborigines back to their original hometown through listening and sound collection.
When the sound is completely emitted, it begins to disappear. Disappearance is an inevitable process of change and movement. The sound archives are recorded and compared, and they are also intertwined with the past cultural memory. A balanced pull is also a connection across time and space. This kind of pulling is not one side to the other. It is a process of gradually coexisting through repeated movements and repetitions to gradually find a balance between body sensation and nature, modernity and the past. The sound is emitted by repeated changes and movements of life, culture, and daily work.
We tried to transform the sound of movement, the sound of working together, the sound of people's strength and the pulling of nature, through compiling and tuning into four sound texts, which are located in the Taitung Art Museum, and the audience can listen to it online by scanning the QR code with their mobile phones.
